To make the most of Webflow CMS’s power and flexibility, you’ll want to kick off your design process by thinking about the content of your site.
It’s not just text — though text plays a key role in any website. Content actually includes a wide variety of media, including photos, infographics, videos, audio — anything that educates, engages, and entertains people who visit your website.
Why start with content? Because it will inform the structure of your site — from the main headline on the homepage, to the deepest page in your sitemap. More specifically, it will help you build the Collections that define content types on your site, from blog posts to case studies to … well, whatever your site needs.
We’ll walk you through how to create a Collection in just a minute. But first, let’s talk a bit about dynamic content.
Dynamic content is content you create once, but display in many different places across your website. As you update this content, it will automatically update wherever it exists, making it really easy to create — and manage — larger websites.
The most common example of dynamic content is a blog post. You publish a blog post in one place, but it (or elements of it) might appear in several different areas, including the homepage, the blog index, and the post page. Not to mention a category page, tag page, author page, and more.
