How to manage pages with folders on my website

Updated
September 14, 2016

1. Adding Folders

To add a folder to your site, open the Page Tool menu and click on the Create New Folder button.

2. Moving Folders

To move your folders to a new location, drag-and-drop the folder where you want it in the page list.

IMPORTANT: Moving a folder will change the URLs of all the pages inside when you publish. If you want the old URLs to redirect to the new location, see URL Redirects.

3. Collapse & Expand Folders

For easy viewing, you can collapse and expand folders by clicking on the folder name in the page list.

4. Deleting Folders

If your folder is empty, you can delete it by clicking the Delete This Folder button found in the Page Details menu.

5. Parent Folders

To set the parent folder of an existing page or folder, open the Page Details menu, click on the Parent Folder dropdown menu, and select a folder. You can also drag-and-drop pages or folders into a folder from the page list.

IMPORTANT: Moving pages or folders to a new folder will result in a URL update. This will cause the old URLs to return a 404 page. If you want the old URLs to redirect to the new location, see URL Redirects.

6. Folder Name

From inside the Folder Details menu, find the Folder Name field and assign your folder a unique name.

NOTE: You can name your folder anything you want, including titles that better help you organize your site without worrying about it affecting your site URL structure.

7. Folder Slug

From inside the Folder Details menu, find the Folder Slug field and assign your folder a unique slug.

IMPORTANT: Changing the slug for a folder will change the URLs of all the pages inside when you publish. If you want the old URL to redirect to the new location, see URL Redirects.
